Southwest Pilot of Flight 1380 Is Navy Veteran Hailed for Her ‘Nerves of Steel’
This articles is about an airplane in mid-air when the left engine exploded. On April 17, 2018 there was a southwest airplane taking off 20 min after take off an engine on the left side of the plane exploded and killing 1 person in the process. The pilot of this airplane was Tammie Jo Shults who is also a veteran from the United States Navy. The veteran late landed the plane in Philadelphia at around 11:20 am. This was the first time since 2009 that a passenger on a U.S airline has died. While the airplane was losing altitude fast passengers and flight attendants tried to revive her. They tried CPR on her and also used the defibrillator.
